Pat Austin

Having suffered from anxiety and depression for most of my life, music has been my main strategy for coping.  So I want my show, Pat’s People, to look at how music has helped others, as it has helped me, deal with this debilitating condition.  So, tune in as I chat with my guests from the local community, as we discover how music has helped them through their darker moments but has also been there to celebrate the good times as well!!

I was born in Stratford upon Avon in 1964 and having attended Stratford High, I got my first job as a tour guide for the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. This was followed by work at the RSC Theatre where I stayed for a number of years.

Music has played a huge part in my life. I started as a chorister at Holy Trinity Church  which has stood me in great stead as a musician, particularly as the frontman in The Texan Peacocks a local covers band. The band has been going 17 years and we have had the honour of supporting The Blockheads and headlining Shipston Proms.
